The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce and the Province of Manitoba have announced that the funding application process for the Digital Manitoba Initiative (DMI) will be re-opened.

Through the DMI, small and medium sized businesses, as well as not-for-profit organizations can apply for funding to cover the costs of digital tools or strategy.

The application process provides two types of grant support, with each stream being assessed on a first-come, first-served basis:

  • The TechUP grant will reimburse up to $5,000 for digital tools. This would include e-commerce options, touchless payment systems, hardware for content creation and product promotion, courses in digital marketing, branding and social advertising.
  • The PowerUP grant will reimburse up to $25,000 for digital strategy. This would include new business models, processes and operations, improvements to customer experience, cloud migration, organizational training, technology upgrades, and obtaining technical support services.

Application windows will open for each grant separately, with businesses being able to apply for TechUP starting Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 12 PM CST. It is currently believed that the application window for PowerUP will be open in early March 2022.

While it is unclear how much funding will be available during this round of applications, applications will be approved until all funds have been fully allocated. Last time the application process was only open for a week, make sure to be ready for February 22, 2022!
